This page is intended to answer the most frequent questions. If you have a question which is not answered on this page, please contact our support!
Do you have a list of proxy servers / a proxy database?
No. We don't provide or sell proxy lists.
We need to guarantee our customers 100% privacy and anonymity as well as the highest possible degree of security and encryption. In addition, our customers get a reliable and fast internet connection. This can only be achieved by operating our own server infrastructure: every service you use will run on dedicated hardware, owned and operated by SurfoNym.
If you use a proxy server from a proxy list database, it is most probably either misconfigured or hacked. This means that there is no guarantee at all regarding the available bandwidth and security. Such servers may disappear any moments. You never know when they start finding out it's being used by a third party and taking the appropriate measures.
Do you log vpn/proxy traffic?
No. Currently we do not log any of our members traffic and we are not planning to do so.
Are there any bandwidth limitations?
No. For our paid products, we have a fair-use flat-rate scheme, which allows you to surf as much as you want. We are not planning to charge for bandwidth or traffic.
How about speed? Isn't there a slowdown when my traffic is routed through your servers?
For almost all internet applications, there won't be a noticeable slowdown at all!
We spend a significant amount of money on new and powerful servers, and we carefully select our upstream providers, too.
SurfoNym also supports compression, which increases throughput.
Can I pay you anonymously / without credit card?
Yes, we accept several ways of payment, so you can pay us even if you don't have a credit card and/or if you want to remain anonymous. Please contact us for information.
Do you allow Filesharing (Kazaa, BitTorrent, ...)?
Yes. We do allow filesharing applications like any other network protocol.
Do you allow e-mail sending (outgoing smtp)?
Yes. We do allow our customers to send emails. You may connect to any outgoing email server (smtp) you like.
Can you give me a Linux shell with SSH access?
You have access to a SSH server to establish a tunnel which you can use to encrypt your HTTP proxy or SOCKS proxy traffic (which would otherwise remain unencrypted). For this purpose, it's not necessary to assign a terminal or execute any commands on shell level.
